ITV’s I’m A Celebrity could be moved to schedules because of the World Cup

I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! looks set to air earlier in the year due to the World Cup being held in Qatar this winter. It is understood that the show hosted by Ant and Dec could air from the end of October to avoid any conflict with the international soccer tournament.
The World Cup starts on November 21, the date I’m a Celeb started last year, MirrorOnline Reports. But this year, ITV bosses plan to start on October 30 and end on November 20.
An insider quoted in the Mirror said: ‘The best thing for viewers was to just avoid the shock altogether. The last thing anyone wants is for the public to have to choose between the latest in the jungle and a game against England.
The show is set to return to Australia after two years in Castle, North Wales, if Covid Down Under restrictions allow. There are high hopes England can perform well in the cup after reaching the Euros final last summer.
Last month, ITV boss Carolyn McCall confirmed: ‘If we can go back to Australia – and this show is supposed to be in Australia – then we will. The World Cup is also planning medium schedule changes for the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, which could switch to Fridays or BBC2 when big matches are in progress.
An ITV spokesperson said it was “too early” to confirm the lineup for this year’s I’m a Celebrity…
