Itinerary changes for two redeployed Carnival cruise ships

After several cruise ship redeployments and ship relocations to different routes due to fleet reshuffles, customers have booked Carnival spirit Where Carnival Splendor in the coming months are also informed of route changes for their next crossings.

These itinerary changes, affecting the April 17 Carnival Journeys cruise on board Carnival spirit as well as Carnival Splendorsummer cruises from Alaska, are likely due to the difference in ship deployments, as Freedom Carnival had previously been scheduled for these trips.

Route changes announced

Since ships of different sizes need to be accommodated at different ports of call, the itineraries for newly assigned ships have been changed slightly from the original. Freedom Carnival routes. Booked guests have been notified of these changes by email, although final times have yet to be announced as bookings are still transferring to new ships.

The 16-day Carnival Journeys cruise – a longer, more intimate voyage that gives guests a chance to explore different ports and local cultures in depth – will still depart on April 17, 2022, but Carnival spirit will call at Ocho Rios, Jamaica instead of Santa Marta, Colombia as she repositions to Seattle, Washington.

Other stops on the itinerary – Cartagena, Colombia; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – remain the same. The trip also includes many days at sea, but the exact dates of ports of call and days at sea may change slightly due to the new shipping route to visit Jamaica.

Likewise, Carnival SplendorAlaska cruises will be somewhat different from previously scheduled itineraries for Freedom Carnival. According to the notification email, “Cruises that call at Skagway will now call at Icy Strait Point or Sitka.”

Affected voyages to Alaska include crossings from May 10 to August 30, 2022 inclusive.

Like with Carnival spiritthe exact itinerary for the slightly reworked cruises has not been announced, but guests will receive details when they receive confirmation of their reservations on the new ship.

Carnival has informed customers that due to the volume of reservations to be moved to different ships, reservation information will not be available until March 1. Reservation transfers are handled by Carnival’s technical team, and all onboard credits and prepaid packages, such as drinks, spa appointments and Wi-Fi packages will also be transferred.

First the ships changed

Route changes for both Carnival spirit and Carnival Splendor come just after guests were informed on February 14 that due to multiple redeployments to cover Carnival feeling and carnival ecstasy leave the fleettheir cruises would no longer be on board Freedom Carnival.

In place, Freedom Carnival changes homeport in Florida from Miami to Port Canaveral to resume routes formerly assigned to Carnival Exhilarationvalid from April 21 to October 15. The vessel’s previously scheduled repositioning to Seattle, Washington will now be handled by Carnival spiritwhile several of its crossings in Alaska will be taken over by Carnival Splendor.

While all three ships are beautiful ships with a lot to offer travelers, the Conquest class Freedom Carnival is 110,000 gross tons, with 13 decks and an occupancy of 2,980 passengers. Carnival spiriton the other hand, is Spirit class and weighs 88,500 gross tons, with 12 decks and capacity for 2,124 passengers.

Carnival Splendor is a Concordia-class ship originally intended for Costa Cruises, but transferred to the Carnival fleet during construction. She is 113,300 gross tons, with 13 decks and a capacity of 3,012 passengers in double occupancy.

The layouts of the three ships are slightly different and offer different spaces and features for passenger enjoyment.
