The Frazer Bearcubs athletics team recorded a number of personal bests when they met at Wolf Point and Glasgow last weekend. Frazer attended the Gene Nelson Memorial on Friday and the Jean Dreikosen Memorial in Hinsdale in Glasgow on Saturday.
Ty Fourstar and Christopher Fox competed for the boys at Wolf Point while Angel Nelligan and Evelyn YellowHammer represented the girls.
Fourstar placed 16th in the 100 meters with his time of 13.75 and Fox was 25th at 15.61. Fox placed 19th in the 200 meters with a time of 33.47.
Fourstar threw a personal best 25-04.50 in the shot put for 25th place while Fox took 29th with a throw of 22-09.00.
Fox set a personal best discus throwing 74-05, good for 24th place. Fourstar also hit a personal best – 66-04 – and took 34th place.
Fourstar finished 15th in the javelin throwing 89-00 while Fox hit another personal best in the event, throwing 87-11 for 17th place.
Fourstar’s jump of 15-00.75 in the long jump was another personal best and earned him 19th place.
On the girls’ side, Nelligan placed 14th in the 100 meters with a time of 16.04 while YellowHammer set a personal best 16.42 for 15th place. YellowHammer was 13th in the 200 meters with a time of 35.25 and Nelligan was 14th at 37.39.
Nelligan placed 14th in the shot put with a throw of 24-10.50 and YellowHammer placed 22nd at 21-04.50. Nelligan set a personal best discus – and finished just outside the podium in seventh – with a 75-11 throw. YellowHammer pitched 35-04 for 26th place. She finished 23rd in the javelin throwing 62-10.
In Glasgow on Saturday for the Jean Dreikosen Memorial, YellowHammer put Frazer’s daughters on the scoreboard with 3 points – before the encounter was called early due to weather – from fourth in the javelin. She pitched 57-00. YellowHammer set a personal best and finished 22nd in discus with a 42-08 throw. Nelligan finished 10th, throwing 72-11.
Fox and Fourstar finished 20th and 21st respectively in the boys’ shot put. Fox threw 25-00.00 and Fourstar hit 23-11.00.
Fourstar took 12th place in the javelin throwing 93-10 while Fox finished in 19th place, throwing 85-04.
Fourstar also took 15th place in the long jump with a jump of 14-04.25.
The Frazer Bearcubs begin their playoffs on Saturday, May 14 at the District 2B/3C Athletics Meet in Glasgow with events starting at 9 a.m.
