Android 12 is coming to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US

And One UI 4.0 is coming for the ride

Samsung was at rock bottom when it came to updating support, but things have really changed. Now, Samsung is often the first OEM to release updates after Google, and it offers even longer update support. Yes, the phones of yesteryear are slowly but surely getting Android 12. Case in point: the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, which started getting Android 12 internationally a few weeks ago. Now the OTA is rolling out in the United States.

T-Mobile has added information to its website about the new update, and SamMobile reports that the unlocked phone is also updated. Carrier versions of the phone will get firmware version F707USQS2EUL9, and unlocked phone will get F707U1UEU2EUL9. The content of the update should be the same as other One UI 4.0 updates. You get all the goodies of Android 12 like system theming, improved privacy controls, and more. Samsung’s One UI update also adds revamped apps and new camera features.

Don’t forget that we are talking about the second Z Flip 2020 released. The original launched earlier this year with support for LTE only. The revised Z Flip 5G changed that, and it’s that hardware that’s now getting the Android 12 update in the US. If you haven’t received the update yet, go to your Settings and find the Software Update menu to perform a manual check.
